Actualities

Our guest house in Béla will close after 10 memorable years, but from May 2022 we will be waiting for our guests with our new boutique guest house on the banks of the Danube and our wine terrace overlooking the Danube.

Vineyard

We cultivate our nearly ten hectares (approx. 25 acres) of vineyard along the river Garam, 250 meters above sea level on the Hill of Muzsla.

This historic wine region is enclosed inside the geographical centre of the triangle formed by the Garam River, the Danube and the southern side of the hills of Muzsla, in what used to be the vineyard of the Cathedral of Esztergom.
Its soil is made of volcanic clay, rich in limestone and minerals.

The old desire of our winery has been to bring back their old splendour to the villages situated along the Garam River, to build a well-established winery that rightly reflects the specific characteristics of our wine region, and even more: to transform the area around the confluence of the three rivers, the Garam, the Danube and the Ipoly, into a tourist micro-region.
In order to achieve this, beside the wines, it is imperative that our gastronomic culture and tourism policies are built on local traditions using local ingredients and local labour.

Wines

Through our wines, we would like to contribute, as quickly as possible, to the discovery of our wine region and in a broader sense the discovery of Central Europe, by demanding wine lovers from all over the world. Hence, our grapes are cultivated according to the principles of biodynamic agriculture and our wines are produced using traditional methods through self-fermentation in wooden barrels and amphorae and aging using “sur lie” technology. Most of our wines are bottled unfiltered with a minimal addition of sulphur.

Our goal is to use our prevailing knowledge to produce, with minimal intervention, wines that reflect the terroir of Muzsla. A naturalistic, natural wine is nothing other than the sum of many-many clean tiny elements – present as well in the grape as in the cellar.

We place great emphasis on the use of the traditional grape varieties of our wine region, such as Furmint, Hárslevelű, Olaszrizling, Juhfark, Kékfrankos and Kadarka.
However, among the world grape varieties, we focus on Rhine Riesling and Pinot Noir.
